It Is Finished!

We finished the process at the American Embassy by picking up Slava's visa and the other documents that we must present at Immigration upon arriving back in the USA. Now we just watch the minutes go sloooowwwwly by as we wait for 3am to come and Slava picks us up one last to take us to the airport. Our flight leaves at 5:30am for a 2 hour flight to Frankfurt via Lufthansa. Then we fly Lufthansa again to Washington DC. From DC we fly United to Albany where whe should arrive at 6:20pm on Thanksgiving Day. Please pray that all flights are on time and we have a clear path home. And pray especially for Slava to travel well. He certainly is a non-stop ball of energy! He loves music though and can keep a beat. We've been putting him in time-outs and he's learning to count to 10 in English. The only problem is he does not listen to us, the more we say "no" the more he laughs. We called Irina last night to ask her what the Ukrainian words are for "no hit". He hits things with other toys, he hits himself, and he's tried to hit us when we try to put him to bed. Ira says that in the orphanage the staff use a loud stern voice when correcting the children and they know to obey. So we've been using the sternest sounding voice we can, but he laughs at us anyway. To a certain extent I remember Jordan being alot like this, so we hope that Slava will learn fast. He can be so cute at times and he's very smart. We just want to get him home so we can really get down to the business of training him.

So this will be our last post from Ukraine. I might be able to post from Frankfort or DC but I cannot promise. But I will post as soon as I can from home! Oh home, how I miss you! We love you all and can't wait to see you all State-side. Thank you for your prayers!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
